ride: heatherbrae William town loop (26k*)

For today's ride I parked up at Bunnings Heathbrae and got ready. While I was there a fellow, looking rough and driving a Lexus hit me up. I sussedthat he had a drug problem rather than a "left my credit card at home and need pertrol" problem. So I suggested he go to the pertrol station across the road and make an arrangement. Tellingly he said "no they won't help you". This tipped me off to a body on the outer of society. So I made my excuses.
Soon after, a guy walking towards Bunnings with his girlfriend fell for it. As D&O thanked a guy in a nearby campervan tipped off the Donor that he'd just for had. This pissed Mr Downandout and he Camperman, calling him an "effing dog"  before going over and slapping him around. They went at it for a while, but it was mostly verbal with the odd slap, until they parted noisily. Mr D&O then drove off still yelling abuse at Camperman. A small group of onlookers, including myself, went over to offer support to the Camperman who said he'd already confronted Mr D&O when he told him off for trying the same Begging Stunt  6 months earlier. Phew, bit of adrenalin to start the ride.
Today, I hoped to have a working computer on board, and? Yes it recorded our track on a map, speed and ride time. It also had a cute Seep Alarm, it forced me to enter a present range of 12-20kph and beeped for the duration eachctime I hit a hill, headwind or rough pavement. It sent a different alarm when when I hit 23kph and it really was alarming.
The Pacific Hwy south was super busy but had a mostly wide shoulder, Tomago Road was less busy, but had a skinny shoulder and was equally alarming.
Tomago House Chapel is fenced off.

I lived it up at Maccas duringba rain shower and after went to watch RAAF and commercial planes taking off. The return via Campvale was similar to Tomago, 1m shoulder, in 80k zone, so hectic. But my little mirror offered greater safety, seeing cars move wide was relieving.
I discovered a bit of a .magical cycleway, while we were geographically on a very economically depressed area, there were very few signs of abuse and a really nice tree canopy. Eventually I had no idea where I was and discovered a Pioneer Cemetery.  Once I emerged onto the old Pacific Highway, I reset my compass and headed back to the car.

About 26k* for a 2-3hr day. Felt great.

PS: The following day I realised the metric on my Dura had been set to Imperialínot kilometres. So my total was over 40k, around 43k in fact.
