My First Motorbike Tour on Dirt

"Is there any thing you have been putting off that if you did today would take you a step closer to your vision".

The "things" for today are; to test the Trangia & Himalayan & to get into the outdoors life. Two of these were a raging success, but the committee is debating the other.
The Himalayan took me here. There & everywhere too actually. A total of 160 kilometres of a fifty-fifty mix of dirt trails & raucous Dungog roads. It was tiring, but the bike was fine, a big tick.

This is the pool where I had a lunch break. The Trangia had a modest task of boiling water & heating beans. It did this in fine form, cleaned up & packed away nicely. A tick there too.

Unfortunately, this pool was about 100m upstream from a popular place called The Ladies Well. As I arrived I saw it packed with yobbos & bogans, which translate as louts & hooligans. It was immediately obvious by the choice of vehicle, parking styles, music, appearance &, if I'd bothered to stop, frequent obscenities broadcast for all to hear. So, I pootled along quietly so as not to draw any attentions from the ever-curious bogans. I found a tiny clearing, checked I was alone & quietly took up temporary residence, had a dip, lunch & began writing my diary when three apprentice bogans waded up the river. A large rock was thrown in the tranquil pond to garner attention, the smallest yobbo proceeded to walk through my camp take two steps & scream out "come here" to his mates who were all of five metres behind. There followed frequent obscenities about the water, the shape of rocks, the depth of the water etcetera. Mum arrives, I couldn't tell if she was a woman because she had a mullet hairstyle, was shapelessly unfit, walked with a wide gait & wore jeans & thongs. Altogether distasteful enough to disturb the peace, aided by a band of throttle bandits on MX bikes that flew by about the same time. What was to be the highlight, became the opposite. I know, it a notorious spot for yobs, fires, copious amounts of alcohol & loud music, & it is Saturday. So, I did enjoy the ride however exhausting it was, but the battery charging capacity was barely enough to boost a phone.

Yeah, so there will be more such days, & nights but I will studiously avoid "tourist traps" & weekends.
