finding my happy place

Happy isn't the responsibility of. T3mu, Am470n, F4c3b00k or Y00tub3, its ours. No, not other people, us as individuals. The source of happiness is within our power; to think, behave and feel correctly.
Yes, having a reliable supply of water, food and dry bedding are a must, so I apologize to the needy.
but if you're Joe Average happiness is at hand. Another qualifier is needed here; happiness is NOT the kind you see on the tv soaps when the duckbilled blonde gets a proposal from a chisel chinned hunk, and casts herself upon him with a squeal of erotic list. No, from my Buddhism readings and personal experience, happiness feels like a cozy buzz of contentmemt. Your body may feel limber and without pain, your mind is rotating calmly around positive thoughts and your spirit is glad because you've exercised goodwill to others  (people and animals).
That's where I am at this morning; I am focusing on the beauty about me, casting aside
matters of possible concern that I have limited control over or have done my best with, and my body feels relaxed with some gentle stretching done and with more to come.
Yes, if I be foolish and want to cause myself harm or disease, I can easily source unhappy thoughts (by worry or rumination), I can be slovenly (by overeating, bad posture or laziness), I can have a recent memory of treating others unkindly. Unhappiness, jealously, envy or even hatred, are just a foolish moment away.
This is where discipline is needed. The actions to pursue the ingredients of happiness must remain on the forefront of your mind.
I do wish happiness to the people I meet today.
