love of a strange village

Well being on my fourth visit this village its not exactly new anymore. But I did pretty.such fall in love with the place in my first visitamd tomorrow will bid on a derelict house here

I walked through the house for the second time today. Having been vacant for more than 20 years, its a "fixer upper" for sure. The roof has literally a ton of leaf matter on it, the gutters are sprouting and the inside is a strip it all out job. But its size, once the add ons are removed, and its siting are just what I need for simple living.
There are a few similar properties up for auction, and one which interests daughter, has fantastic potential as a stately old home in a double block. But my little number really shines for me and I hope to be elbows deep in crud a.d rust very soon .
No I haven't gone all evangelical, this is the house on the opposite side of the street
At the rear of the cottage is St James catholic church. Having been raised on the church through the 60s and 70s this was the era of God is Love and
folk music during mass. It certainly was an upbeat time, but it got crushed by traditionalists and paedophiles. So sad, but this sign still stands on defiance of church authorities grasping at power.
