what a day; power, polish, a ride & scamming.
After chores, I worked on Hondo. Firstly, I wired in a USB port. Brought as a kit from JAYCAR it was a snap; wire into the battery, mount the port & cable tie the excess cable out of the way. Done.
Next, I polished the casings et all. Actually it was dead easy, just a matter of spray on, hose off. And it looks brilliant, a good way of cleaning spoked wheels.
$8 a can!
Then I checked the coolant situation. I noticed the overflow was low, but the radiator was chockers. So instead of a flush through, I just topped up the overflow.
While I was having a break, I perused Facebool arketplace for a "chopper". And to my amazement I found this!
o l knew in my balls it was possibly bogus, but it was only a hundred or so klms away. Well, the old bird that answered the door was a little surprised by my asking whether had a bike for sale. Needless to say, "Brookie Smith" had stopped answering .messages. I hope FB get him.
Well the ride was total bliss. Two lane country roads, hardly any traffic, no cops, no roos. That's what I like. Again I was tossing over thoughts on a new bike. Its fairly clear that any Harley built after the Evo, say pre-2004, is hexy to repair. But Evo engines are getting old & there's a burgeoning trade in Harley speedos so you just don't know what you're buying.
Meanwhile, Hondo was powering along saying "What About Me?" at the top of his exhaust. I love my Hondo, its just that with a big trip, I want more of him. A Shadow 1300, or even better, a Fury 1300 chopper. I get home, find one on South Aus. Me & the Vendor go back & forth a bit, then he accuses me of being a Scammer?!
