a legend in a white hat

Helping others without any reason and giving without the expectation of receiving anything in return".

Roy T. Bennett

In response to my daughter's  job application and profile  more than one employer out west was impressed. Its not rocket science, among other attribites he was the 2022 NSW Pony Club Volunteer of the Year. I'd put her on the payroll on that alone, buy a few mealy mouths offered only lowly work, for long hours & low pay.
One brave heart was impressed too. He called her up and reassured her she could have any job she wanted on the local Council work team. Then he invited her to visit for a chat and look about.
Being conscientious on all that she does Mia drove the five hours then presented for a job interview. On the day it turned out Craig not only told her she had a position, he wanted to get to know her & then run through the types of work they offered in order to fit in with Mia's wishes.  When she returned home Mia was chuffed with Craig's positivity & his willingness to help her enjoy the work, her workmates & the local community. She hardly believed it was true.

Fast forward a few months & that guy is still a shining light & no surprises Mia is enjoying everything as promised. In a written report on her performamce he recently described Mia as a "highly motivated worker" and he was "yet to find a job she could not do well". He concluded that she was "a great asset for the local team, community and Council".

Late last month I bought my old miners cottage, Craig had been interested on how it went & followed up with Mia to learn if I won the auction. He was happy I had & this week asked her to introduce us during my next visit. He then offered to clear overgrown vegetation for no charge with his own  traxcavator. This guy is  legend!
The most amazing aspect of all this kindness & giving of himself to individuals & the community he has endured the greatest sadness a parent may ever endure; the sudden & tragic loss of his son. Amazing grace.
