Friday 17 Oct. Ferreiros to ventas de naron

After yesterday s 40, I was a little relaxed parting. As @ had a microwave I grabbed my gear & hit the lounge to make coffee & pack.
While I was pooping a pig frenchie, who had been chasing/ harassing a younger woman, took my mug! I just finished packing, said BC as I left.
The way began descending, but had a few shallow follies. At a near village, 100k to SdC, a blk white collie began following pilgrims, for many ks. The remarkable thing was, she was really happy & friendly, is: unspanish.
A few hrs later the way split; histotico vs secundo. I took historico & felt immediately FSNTASTIC - fewer ppl, interesting old path etc. Soon I came to a radical rock wall downer, I literally had to use stone walls either side for support. Way cool!

After another wild down wall, a short by the road section, I came into PORTOMARIN
before this bridge, a Roch landing with heart  & bell sculpture. And a couple holding the collie; "rescuing her".
Shallow river where ancient settlements have been found: BCE old.
Up into PM
Some days all the amazing stuff occurs metres apart. After this photo, toast & coffee, then leaving town back over a river arm.
The way from there was hohum, good trail, some roadside, nothing amazing.
This village is v pretty. Found @ lots of ppl, but rooms €15, nice, comfy, spacious.
Washed, slept, ensalada = heaven.
I did think of pushing to SdC, 2 x 38s, but gone off that.

SOOTY CAT + TICK
as WiFi had been poor of late, I got msg of Sooty having been bitten & hospitalised, lucky to survive, Pattie going AWOL a few days too.
So I CALLED MIA, discussed cats, she is at Zacs, to work out truck overheating. Mentioned early return, she urged further travel as expected, but I feel cooked, have achieved goal, new goals at home etc.

poor sooty!!!
