4/10 Tardajos to Castrogerez

From very ordinary beginnings, the day soared. It reached a peak rapidly, emerging from the dark just 2.1k Rabe De Las Calzadaz, beautiful sculptures relating to the Camino, well maintained gardens, as were the homes and as we broached the hill, opening up views to the south and west, several buildings had beautiful murals. One depicted Einstein, Nelson Mandella and Ghandi as being ingredients of the pilgrim!
Joyfully we hit the meseta. Hontana, had agua, I snacked along the way, talked to Joe a German guy who had worked in Australia. I had a big lunch at a derelict pilgrims hospital, San Anton. I was tempted to stay, but with the NRL grand final tomorrow, I wanted to put in solidly today.
