Alberg Hornopico (?) was a bit dark so slept in s little. Wasted no time in clearing out, on the road heading west.
The wall into Burgos was fairly even & hard surfaced. Unfortunately i couldn't find a bar until well onto town, after passing car sales, repairs & hire shops, numerous mattress & sofa showrooms, kitchen & bathroom builders.
The bar was off the main road, the server was typically slow, but really just thorough with guests. She asked if I wanted my croissant hot, them made a cuppacino in a big glass, a shot in & then a heap of hot milk. The croissy was flat, almost toasted, but crisp, served with butter & jam!! Delicious and much needed after 15k.
On the same side street a bustling fruit shop drew me in, a gaggle of middle eastern guys shoved trolleys of fresh produce among eager locals. I thought i bought bananas but had plantains, I added a Roma tom, baguette, apple. B was poorly signposted. Found the cathedral, dodged tourist parties & had a quiet prayer. I caught a nun, who lead prayers groups, checking her phone ...
At some point I withdrew cash, no problem, but just like the last time, it shut my phone down & i lost navigation & photo taking options.

More nice city stuff, but I couldn't wait to freemyself.  I did eventually& entered a flog along the main roadside to Leon. Being off piste stresses me...
Eventually, I wandered into a small old village, & got directions which basically put me alongside the main road. A few Ks later the proper way, passed under highway & bimbled into Tarjados. Phew.
